Coffee’s roots lie in an ancient ritual in which myth and legend blend with reality and are lost in history and cloaked in mystery.

The word “coffee” originates in the classical Arabic “qahwah”, indicating a beverage with stimulating, exciting effects - produced by the juice extracted from certain seeds – which was also used for medicinal purposes.

With time, its meaning narrowed down and it became the Turkish work “quahve”: coffee.
